Carmel will see a new square and a block of flats.
The district of Carmel in Barcelona will soon see a new housing and a square, as recently there was a special competition held in the city to choose the team which will make a design for the project. The team was chosen by the jury, which consisted of the city council, autonomous government, architects from the Col·legi d'Arquitectes and, of course, representatives of the local residents, who are most interested in this project. As a result, the plan proposed by the architects Sergi Guillen and José Zabala Rojí was chosen, which includes a children's play area in the square with sand pits and simple recreational equipment. Nearby there will be a block of 19 flats with a social centre and parking facilities. Now the winning team works on the executive plan for the building and the square, which has to be presented to the jury in September. Meanwhile, the square is opened to the Carmel residents.
