El Pèndol – new ride at Tibidabo Amusement Park
A popular Barcelona attraction, Tibidabo Amusement Park, may now become even more visited, as it got a new, really special ride on Friday 4, which will supplement already a good choice of rides on offer. The Italian-made ride called El Pèndol (the Pendulum) is the first such attraction to be installed in Spain. It consists of a 25-metre long articulated arm, which supports a gondola that takes four people. The gondola, with its passengers, is first raised to a height of 38 metres. Then it drops in a controlled free fall, reaching a speed of 100 kilometres an hour in 2.8 seconds. At the end of the drop, the gondola swings in an arc of 50 metres. Among this year novelties in the park there are also Els Globus (an attraction for the whole family), Marionetarium – puppet show, and more. The Tibidabo Amusement Park is located at Pl. del Tibidabo, 3-4, at the highest point of the city.
