Money to be invested in cultural venues

Barcelona is a large cultural and tourist's centre, and much is done to support this status. For instance, recently there was the agreement signed between the mayor of Barcelona, Jordi Hereu, and the Minister of Culture, Carmen Calvo, which says that there will be 20 million euros invested in the development of cultural venues of the city. Among them there are: the Auditori de Barcelona; Teatre Lliure Foundation; Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA); Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB); Joan Miró Foundation; Tàpies Foundation; Picasso Museum; a new exhibition at the Edifici Fòrum; the Centre del Disseny in Barcelona and the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya. All these foundations are not only important for the city, but also of great significance for the country’s culture. According to the mayor Jordi Hereu, this will be a great contribution to the development of cultural and, as a result tourist life of Barcelona, which will probably bring additional profits to the city.
