New cable car system at the Montjuïc
Your journey to the highest point of the Montjuïc hill, The Castle, will now be a lot easier, and will probably take no more than 15 minutes. The reason for this is that there was a new cable car system opened in the area, with three stations: Parc de Montjuïc, the Mirador and the Castle boarding their cars for tourists. The new cable cars have many advantages if to compare them with the old ones. First, they are more spacious and easily accessible, two of them even have safety belts for wheelchairs. The cars are enclosed in glass, so one you find yourself in one of them, you won’t manage to close your mouse as they offer stunning views of Avinguda Diagonal, Plaça d'Espanya, Plaça Catalunya, Sagrada Familia and many other landmarks. To ensure the cars will stay in good condition, they will be kept in a special building and workers will check and clean them regularly.
