Although he faces stiff competition from Cameroonian team-mate, Samuel Eto'o, and Chelsea's Frank Lampard, the Brazilian crack will be hoping to hold on to the trophy he won for the first time last year, ahead of France's Thierry Henry and Andrei Shevchenko from the Ukraine. The decision of a panel made up of international trainers and captains will be announced at a gala at Zurich Opera House on the 19th December, when the FIFA Presidential and Fair Play awards is also made. Correspondingly the organizers, the award ceremony is a spectacular fusion of football, music and dance.
