Hora del Jazz festival
Till the end of September you can visit a Hora del Jazz festival, first organised seventeen years ago. This year the festival is a tribute to pianist Tete Montoliu. Numerous jazz concerts are organised at the Plaça de Rius i Taulet and other venues around the city. Performances take place every Sunday, at midday, and are free of charge. Around fifteen bands will bring their music to the visitors. The list of performers includes Max Sunyer Secrets, the Lunar Project, Jordi Matas Quintet, Sabina Witt with the Juan Pablo Balcázer Quartet and others. On the last day of the month, September 30th, there will be Big Acoustic Band playing jazz at Plaça de Sant Joan. From 1 to 24 September there will also be evening jazz concerts held at different venues around the city (at the Jamboree, Sala Monasterio, El Foro and other venues).
