Winners of Christmas Cup.

Esther Nuņez and Eduard Perez won the 96th annual Christmas Day Swimming Cup, which attracted 398 competitors and which is held in the chilly waters of Barcelona port. On a relatively sunny day, water temperature of 12.5 C was slightly higher than ambient temperatures of 10.5 C. Nuņez, who swims for the Sabadell club, won the 200 metres women's event in a time of 2 minutes, 27 seconds, while Eduardo Perez, who swims for Hospitalet, won the men's event in 2 minutes, 19 seconds. Among this year's competitors was veteran Jordi Casas, who is more than 60 years old, and who was competing for the 52nd time. The oldest participant was 74 year old is Ramon Tresens. Carles Ventura set the record for the event in 1994, the same year that a blind person -Josep Labrķ- completed the course for the first time.
