ERC youth target King.
The young people's movement of the radical Catalan Party ERC launched another attack on a famous institution: the monarchy. This follows on from two other "acts" by the youngsters: chaining themselves to the railings outside the Cadena COPE radio station after it broadcast a criticism of the ERC, and tearing pages out of the Spanish Constitution on December 6, Constitution Day. This new "idea" represents a photo-montage of King Juan Carlos disguised as a bubble of Freixinet Cava, whilst the text "Pels Reis, demanem la republica al rei" is clearly highly incendiary, and the idea is to send as many as 30,000 of these postcards to King Juan Carlos before January 6. Sources inside the ERC have stated that this latest campaign "was fully justified in the light of the constant attacks Spain makes on Catalunia and Catalan products."
