Torres strikes twice.
Barcelona's run of 14 games unbeaten was brought to an end by Atletico Madrid at the Nou Camp February 5, just one short of matching Real Madrid's historic run of fifteen in the 1960-61 season, when Alfredo Di Stefano was at his magical best. With Ronaldinho ruled out after his sending-off midweek, Deco still not backs from the African Cup, and Xavi still out injured, Barcelona always looked second best. Henrik Larsson halved the deficit in the 64th minute, but Fernando Torres wrapped up the win, and the double over the league leaders, with a second goal ten minutes later. Fernando Torres, who always seems to do well against Barcelona, snuck in between the centre backs to slot home the first in the 33rd minute before Maxi doubled the lead just before the interval, getting on the end of a Petrov cross in from the left after an incisive run, although television replays reveal that Maxi was clearly offside.
