Barcelona Zoo is to move to out of city.
Several of Barcelona Zoos, currently located in Parque Ciutadella, will in the next few years be relocated to another site out of the city. The mayor of Barcelona, Joan Clos made a statement yesterday confirming the move. Clos mentioned that some animals could be relocated to Aqualedłn, the former Rioledłn Safari, in Albinyana - Tarragona. Hours after the announcement, Clos received criticism from the president of the Zoo and mayoral partner Jordi Portabella, who is currently on an official trip in Israel. Portabella distanced himself from the statement made by Clos, accusing him of haberse tirado a la piscine.
